Competition
Competition will take place in venues carefully selected to provide the best possible conditions for athletes and spectators alike. The modern and functional venue reflects the Sweden’s commitment to university sport, offering high-quality facilities in a setting designed for international events.
Competition format
The FISU World University Championships Cheerleading 2026 competition will be organized in accordance with the most recent University Technical Rules of the International Cheer Union (ICU).
Please note that the 2026 FISU World University Championships Cheerleading has a maximum participant capacity to ensure a high-quality experience for all delegations. We kindly encourage all teams to complete their registration as early as possible to inform your interest regarding the competition.
In the event that the maximum registration capacity is reached, the Organising Committee will need to prioritize participants, and all affected delegations will be informed promptly.

Entry Rules
- Maximum of 114 athletes per delegation
- Each athlete and official must hold a valid ICU ID card
- Only one team per division per delegation is permitted
Competition Structure
- Day 1: Semifinal – All teams
- Day 2: Semifinal – All teams
- Day 3: Final – The minimum top 5 teams in each division

Venues

Kviberg Arena – Competition Venue
Kviberg Arena in Gothenburg is a modern sports complex and the official venue for the 2026 FISU World University Championships Cheerleading. The arena offers high-quality indoor facilities suitable for top-level international competitions.
- Competition Hall: Large indoor sports hall with high-quality flooring, lighting, and seating for approximately 1500 spectators.
- Training & Warm-up Areas: Serneke Arena spaces are used for practice and warmup areas before competition.
The venue has hosted numerous events, ensuring both athletes and spectators enjoy a professional and well-organized event experience.

Technical equipment
For the 2026 FISU World University Championship in cheerleading, Kviberg Arena in Gothenburg will ensure the use of high-quality, FISU-approved sport equipment, adhering to the regulations set by the International Cheerleading Union (ICU) and FISU. The equipment used in the event will be chosen for competitive cheerleading purposes, ensuring the safety and performance of athletes.
- Performance Cheer surfice Marley, will be updated here shortley. The competition surfice will have a safety zone of 2 meters.
- Cheerleading competition surfice is a foam mat, size 12.8m x 16.5m (9 strips) with a safety zone of 2 meters.
Trainings
Pre-competition training opportunities will be provided to all the participating delegations. More information about the trainings will be provided closer to the event.
